Sichuan Province, which is landlocked, has long been one of the most popular Chinese locations for international birders. Although the area near the provincial capital, Chengdu, is dirty and densely populated, the mountains on the Tibetan Plateau are only a few hours away to the west.

Sichuan birding tours take you to some of the most prominent birding spots in Sichuan, like Longcangou, Balang Mountain, Wolong Nature Reserve, Mengbi Mountain, and Flower Lake. With Alpinebirding, this 20-day birding tour focuses on China’s endemics, providing a perfect opportunity to see endemics and numerous range-restricted species in China. While some parts of this trip will be strenuous due to climbing or walking in high-elevation areas, we will be rewarded with incredible views.

Easy to Adapt with Busy Lifestyle

Birding is one activity you can adapt to your time, energy, and budget: you can go out looking for birds as often as you like. You don’t have to spend an hour or an entire day looking for birds. No time for early birding? Sleep in and go birding later. Too hot or cold outside today? You can look for birds in your backyard by sitting in your house.

It is possible to go birding as a child and continue birding into old age. Kids love to be outside with their parents and birding can make that outing more interesting. The great thing about birding is that you can do it as much or as little as you like. Start by observing and identifying the birds in your backyard, then go hiking with your binoculars. But, if you want to go the extra mile, a birding tour of China is a good option.

It’s An Exercise

You have to walk a lot when your bird. An average birding expedition lasts about two to three hours. Even so, birding is not typically an aerobic activity, unless you are trekking up and down steep paths searching for birds found at higher elevations. However, for the average adult, walking burns about 300 calories per hour, so birding has some health benefits.

You are probably aware of some of the many benefits of walking, like reducing the risk of heart disease and improving your mood, but walking also has additional benefits, including:

  • It counteracts the effects of genes that cause weight gain.
  • It aids in the control of a sweet craving.
  • It lowers the chances of acquiring breast cancer.
  • It alleviates joint discomfort.
  • It improves immunological function.

So, become a birder and go on a trek!

It Connects You to Nature.

During each birding journey, I’ll take a break, gaze about, and marvel at the sights, sounds, and fragrances of nature. A dense forest, a sandy beach by the coast, a stream gurgling by, a marsh packed with cattails, or a partly frozen channel all inspire amazement and wonder in me. The fact is that when you’re outside, you don’t always see birds, but you’re constantly somewhere aesthetically appealing.

Birding is only one of many outdoor hobbies that may help you connect with nature – but it does so better than others. Birding is performed by watching and listening for only one niche in the vastness of nature that surrounds us — birds. Extend your observations beyond the birds and utilize all of your senses to experience nature as you’ve never experienced it before.

As a birder, you become a member of a community that includes some really great people. It allows you to communicate with your partner and family. You work out both your body and your mind. It takes you to regions you didn’t know existed and immerses you in nature. The more you study birds and witness their beauty and diversity, the more awestruck you become. Get out there and enjoy some birding! Discover the world’s natural wonders!
